Holiday rentals Larmor Plage I Travel to southern Brittany

Larmor-Plage is a town in the French department of Morbihan and takes its name from ar mor, meaning the sea in Breton, and its sardine industry in the 19th century.

Now a seaside resort, Larmor-Plage is prized for its fine sandy beaches facing due south, its sailing school and nature reserve.

There something for everyone! Surfing and paddleboard enthusiasts will enjoy Toulhars beach while families flock in droves to the beaches of Port-Maria and Nourriguel. Do you feel like participating in water sports? Head for the Kerguelen beach where the sailing school provides classes and rents windsurfing boards, sailing dinghies, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards. Fans of kitesurfing also love being there when the winds are favorable.

From Larmor-Plage you can see the harbor at Lorient, the Citadel of Port-Louis and let’s not forget the island of Groix!

The town has an urban beach vibe thanks to its boulevard of seafront restaurants, year-round cultural events, casino and local market. The highlight of Larmor-Plage? You can linger over a drink on a restaurant’s outdoor patio while watching your children run on the beach!

A coastal path runs along all of the town’s beaches and continues on to the beaches of Kerpape and Lomener—a paradise for running enthusiasts!

The Ploemeur Océan golf course is less than 15 minutes away by car from downtown Larmor-Plage and allows you to practice your swing at the ocean’s edge.

In the heart of southern Brittany, Larmor-Plage makes it possible to visit Lorient, a 15-minute car ride away, or the coast of Lomener and Guidel.
